PathRecover ("we", "us") operates the PathRecover website and mobile applications, a community where people share recovery stories after surgeries and health procedures.
2. Information we collect
- Account info: email, username, display name, and (optionally) age you provide.
- Content you share: stories, comments, votes, messages, and any images you upload.
- Usage data: basic technical info (device type, browser, IP) needed to operate the service.
- Authentication: if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive only your email and name.
3. How we use your information
- Operate the service, including showing your stories and notifications.
- Send transactional emails (password resets, notifications you opted into).
- Protect the community from spam, abuse, and security threats.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your content to train third-party AI models.
4. Health information disclaimer
Content on PathRecover is user-generated and is not medical advice. Stories about recovery, medications, and procedures are personal experiences only. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.
5. Sharing
Stories you publish are visible to other users. Direct messages are visible only to you and the recipient. We share data with service providers (hosting, email delivery) strictly to run the service.
6. Your rights
You can edit your profile, delete individual stories and comments, or permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. Account deletion removes your profile, stories, comments, votes, archives, and messages.
7. Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
8. Children
PathRecover is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has registered, contact us.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, role-based access controls, and per-row access policies to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.
